The Future of the Australian Banking Sector

with Anna Bligh, CEO, Australian Banking Association

Australia’s banking sector has been at the forefront of shaping the nation’s response to the economic impact of COVID-19. The unprecedented across the board deferral of mortgages and a range of other welcome measures are working to reshape the role the banks play in both business and in the wider society. Arguably, the response of Australian banks has established a benchmark for other jurisdictions to follow. And all this, in the wake of the findings of the Royal Commission which called for widespread re-shaping of Australia’s banking sector.

Hear from the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Banking Association, Anna Bligh, who is spearheading this “banking renaissance” and hear her views on what this means for the economy longer term. As Premier of Queensland during the devastating floods and stepping into the role as head of the ABA pre Royal-Commission and during COVID-19, Ms Bligh will also share her perspectives on leading through crisis.
