Board of Directors

The Chamber is supported by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of leading identities from the Australian business community. The Board meets at least eight times a year and Directors are elected at the Annual General Meeting.

The Chamber Secretariat and Committees are accountable to the Board. The Board is accountable to the Members.

Andrew Macintosh - Chairman

Andrew is COO of The March Fund, a global food technology sustainability fund, and the non-executive Chairman of Acorus Asset Management, a China-Africa private equity firm.
He is also an adjunct faculty at Macquarie Graduate School of Management. Prior to this, Andrew was a partner in a Chinese private equity firm specialising in oil & gas, and General Manager of banking at NAB in Hong Kong.

Andrew Whitford- Deputy-Chair

Andy is Managing Director- East Asia for global advisory and campaign firm C|T Group. He has over 30 years’ experience working in financial and professional services firms in London, Australia, mainland China and Hong Kong. Previously Andy was the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong branch and Regional Head for Greater China for Westpac Banking Corporation.

Paul Scroggie- Deputy-Chair

Paul is the Regional Director of Hong Kong, Macau and PRC at Merx Project Management. With over 30 years experience in project supervision and management, he is regarded as a regional expert in rationalising property portfolios and leading workplace change to facilitate the delivery of inspiring spaces that support and enable businesses.

Simone Wheeler - Deputy-Chair

Simone Wheeler has lived and worked in Asia for 25 years managing the reputation, culture and brand of innovative multinationals and start-ups in the finance, asset management, technology, media and FMCG sectors. Following 12 years as Global Head of Communications of CLSA, the brokerage, investment bank and private equity firm now owned by CITIC Securities, Simone is pursuing her passion for philanthropy at the global NGO and, through her consultancy Aurelius Strategic, is helping enlightened, purpose-driven organisations and individuals to achieve bold outcomes that benefit society and the planet. Simone has been a member of the Austcham board since 2018.

Robert Quinlivan - Treasurer

Rob is the Group CFO for Sun Hung Kai & Co. and has 30 years of experience in international financial markets.  Previously Rob was CFO Asia for Macquarie Group Limited and has worked in senior finance and assurance roles with Barclays and Merrill Lynch. Prior to Hong Kong, Rob worked in Seoul, Tokyo, London and New York.  Rob commenced his career with KPMG in Australia.





Bina Gupta

Bina is Founder & Chief Executive of BG Business Communications Ltd and digital business content platform innovationhongkong®. Her multimedia experience spans across ASX, NASDAQ and LSE corporates in Australia and Asia. Bina was a judge of the ACBA Awards in 2015 and 2016 and has been based in Hong Kong for 26 years.

Dr. George LAM, BBS

George is Non-Executive Chairman - Hong Kong and ASEAN Region and Chief Adviser to Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets Asia, Chairman of Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited, President of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP) Sustainable Business Network (ESBN) Executive Council and Chairman of its Task Force on Banking and Finance, and also President of Hong Kong-ASEAN Economic Cooperation Foundation and Honorary Chairman - Asia Pacific of CMA Australia.

Alex Oxford

Alex has over 10 years experience in sales operations & business development specialising in AML / KYC compliance software and data in Asia-Pacific based out of Hong Kong. Alex has worked alongside major financial institutions and industry bodies in deploying large transformational change IT projects and regulatory driven data solutions with a specialisation in Sanctions, PEP screening and automation of back office systems. Alex currently serves as a Non-Executive Director at the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, a non-profit organisation that's mission is to promote and represent Australian business and values in Hong Kong and further abroad. Alex holds the CAMS designation from ACAMS, BBus from Swinburne University and MSc ( Management ) from the University College of Dublin

Fiona Nott 

Fiona is the CEO of The Women's Foundation, an NGO dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls in Hong Kong. A former Lawyer and Company Secretary. Fiona is also a director of Aesop Hong Kong.

Wendy Tong Barnes

Wendy is Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of CK Infrastructure Holdings Limited. She is also the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of CK Asset Holdings Limited and CK Life Sciences Int’l., (Holdings) Inc. and the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Hui Xian Asset Management Limited. She joined the CK Group in March 1999. Mrs. Barnes holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Ivy Au Yeung

Ivy is Deputy CEO of OCBC Wing Hang. She is an international banker with over 30 years of experience with strong track record in Relationship Management, Credit and Product Management across Asia Pacific.
Ms Au Yeung holds an MBA from University of Sydney. She is a FCPA of CPA Australia; a member of the Lump Sum Grant (LSG) Independent Complaints Handling Committee (ICHC) under the Social Welfare Department of Hong Kong; and a member of the Investment Advisory Committee of the Sir David Trench Fund for Recreation. Ivy is also on the Board of HK Dance Company as well as the Board of Read-Cycling Co Ltd. 

Darren Bowdern 

Darren is a partner in KPMG’s Hong Kong tax practice, heading up the M&A Tax and Alternative Investments practice in Hong Kong. He has more than 25 years experience of serving institutions in a wide range of industries in Hong Kong and Asia Pacific.

David Simmonds

David is the Group General Counsel, Chief Administrative Officer and Company Secretary of CLP Holdings Limited.  He has extensive infrastructure and corporate governance experience throughout Asia.  Prior to joining CLP Group, David held various senior positions at Telstra.  He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators in England, a Fellow of The Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries and a current Vice President of The Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries Council. 

Jay Bailey

Jay is the Asia regional Head of Divisional Controls for National Australia Bank, and Alternate Chief Executive for Hong Kong.  He has over 27 years of experience in banking across Australia and Asia, including the last 9 years in Hong Kong and Tokyo.  Jay holds an MBA from Globis University in Tokyo, Japan, and is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers and Financial Services Institute of Australasia.

Shannon Powell

Shannon is the Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner Hong Kong and Macau, previously holding the same position for Andean Latin America.

Starting her career working within large Australian law firms she then joined an Australian non-profit organisation, The Global Foundation, leading domestic and global teams to facilitate trade and investment and policy development in the areas of mining, renewable energy, financial services, education, agribusiness and manufacturing. Prior to joining Austrade, she was Director of her own consultancy company, with clients across Australia, Brazil and the United States specialising in governance, leadership, community engagement and communications for large organisations. Shannon continues to sit on the Advisory Board of The Global Foundation.
